DESIGN SHOULD BE BEAUTIFUL, DURABLE, FUNCTIONAL – AND ADD VALUE

Interior designer Helle Flou lives in a classic apartment in Copenhagen with tall windows, stucco ceilings and French doors. She recently decided to add curtains to the beautiful rooms. Her choice fell on fabrics from &Drape and sustainable curtain tracks from Stilling.

Helle Flou Design Studio creates interior design for the hospitality industry, as well as for retail and offices. Their intention is to create harmonious, comfortable, and beautiful environments for people.

TRACKS AND STUCCO IN HARMONY

In the three living rooms en-suite, it is not only the extravagant stucco that adorns the ceilings. So does our AP 2001. The sleek, white, sustainable curtain track in reused Hydro CIRCAL© aluminium blends in with the stucco. It is curved to continue around the corner. Thus, the curtains do not take up space by the windows, but can be drawn aside to hang by the French doors.

In addition to making the curtain a decorative object, this also provides greater functionality. The curtain acts as a screen between the French doors which divide the bedroom from the living room.
Helle Flou has chosen a sound-absorbing curtain fabric, which ensures peace and quiet in the room.

FULL FUNCTIONALITY

In the dining room, the interior designer has chosen to use  AP 2001 in a classical way, with curtains framing the window on each side. A solution, which also offers a decorative backdrop that changes, depending on how much or how little the curtain is drawn.
To increase flexibility none of the curtains in the apartment are attached to their end stops.

SUSTAINABLE CHOICES

More and more architects are asking for green solutions in their interior design. A demand Stilling was the first in our industry to address by designing a curtain track made of reused aluminium. The AP 2001 track is made from Hydro CIRCAL© consisting of 75 percent reused aluminum and extruded using renewable energy.

Sustainability was also a requirement on Helle Flous’ part in her choice of curtains.

“I knew that you could get curtains in recycled materials and had no doubt at all that this was what I needed. But that I could also get sustainable curtain tracks was a positive surprise. Needless to say those were my choice ” says Helle Flou.
