Sweet dreams with Stilling

That’s why Danish brand Stilling introduces a cornice – a track profile with a special width and rounded edges that completely blocks out light at the windows

Cornices Are Making a Comeback
With the growing awareness of sleep quality, the Danish family-owned company Stilling has chosen to reintroduce the classic cornice in three widths. Not only does it completely block out light, but it also adds an elegant aesthetic to the bedroom.

When the cornice was first introduced in the 1950s, it was covered in fabric to create a softer look—an option that remains available today. However, it is now also introduced in a lacquered version, allowing it to seamlessly extend the wall colour or stand out as a contrasting element that enhances the window area. The level of visual impact is entirely up to the individual, which is why Stilling offers the cornice in three widths, three collection colours, and the option of lacquering in all standard RAL and NCS colours.

A cornice is mounted on the ceiling, and its rounded edges ensure complete light blockage. To create the most optimal sleeping environment, it is often combined with textiles woven with blackout properties.

Two Homes, Two Expressions
Behind the lacquered cassette, two slim curtain tracks are integrated—one holding a sheer white curtain that lets daylight in while maintaining privacy, and another carrying a block out curtain.

Stilling has visited two homes with different styles but the same aesthetic and functional solution for ensuring the best possible sleep.
